Lahore: Police sacrilegiously stormed into a church during Sunday service, tortured pastor

Police stormed into a church in Lahore, on June 12; when Sunday’ prayer service was going on; pastor-in-charge was attacked. The incident took place in Lahore’ Fazalia Colony, when police invaded the United Christian Church, and unleashed worst torture on the pastor.

Police from the Ichraa Police Station, stormed into the church at about 11:50 pm, when Sunday service was going on. Police tortured Pastor Riaz Rehmat, as the police charge was down to a sound level row. Followed by the vandalism from police, Christians staged a protest at the Ferozepur Road, and completely blocked the traffic.
The protest was called off by the agitated Christians followed by guarantee from the police officials that action will be taken against the policemen responsible for the sacrilegious assault. Christians demanded that a case be registered against the police personnel who had raided the church during the Sunday service.
They urged that the perpetrators should be charged of desecrating the sanctity of the church, and interrupting in the prayer service. “God forbidden, if a Christian would have committed such sacrilegious act, he would have incriminated of charges as relentless as blasphemy and others,” Christian protesters complained.
